Welcome to the Twilight of the Gods
“It’s all real… the world you know… it’s just an illusion.” — Xlina, Dirge of the Dead
That illusion has shattered.
Welcome to the official blog for Mistfall: Armageddon, an urban fantasy narrative roleplaying game set in the chaotic, magic-scarred world of the Baku-verse. If you've ever wanted to forge a legend in a world where myths are real, gods are dying, and the Mist that concealed it all has finally collapsed, you've come to the right place.
In the wake of Armageddon, the very fabric of society has been torn apart. The United States has fractured into three warring nations, each with its own desperate response to the sudden unveiling of magic.
The Freelands: A fragile beacon of hope in New England where humans and "otherworlders" attempt to coexist.
The Confederate Union: A religious oligarchy in the south that has banned all magic, enforcing its dogma with zealous might.
The Last United Frontier: A xenophobic nation west of the Mississippi built on the belief that "otherworlders" are to blame for all the world's wrongs.
This is the world you've been thrown into—a reality that is the seventh attempt at imposing order on a chaos that has already consumed six previous worlds.
But What Makes Mistfall Different?
This isn't just a game about fighting monsters. It's a game about building your story. We designed Mistfall: Armageddon as a character-driven narrative, and two key features make that possible:
A Focus on Narrative: This is a narrative-first system, designed specifically with online play in mind. All dice are rolled by you, the player, putting the focus on your character's actions and decisions, not on a Narrator's hidden rolls.
The Nemesis System: A hero is only as great as their greatest nemesis. In our game, you don't wait for a villain to appear. You create them. During character creation, you will build your own personal adversary. This nemesis is woven into your story, and defeating them isn't just a plot point—it's the only way to increase your character's core characteristics.
In this blog, we'll be diving deep into the mechanics, lore, and design philosophy of Mistfall: Armageddon. Whether you're a player looking to build your first Nephilim Wizard , a Cambion Warlock , or a Narrator crafting a campaign in the desolate ruins of Chicago, this is your new home.
